Klasik Keyifler Müzik Derneği - Fevzipaşa Mahallesi, Çay Kenarı Sokak, No: 151, Merkez Çanakkale - music@klasikkeyifler.org +90 532 614 4955

Since the time that we dreamed up KK, we have always wanted to be more than just a music festival…we love to be a gathering place, a place to ask questions and be curious, and a place to network with musicians and music lovers from around the world. Now for the first summer after the pandemic we are so excited to be able to integrate workshops into our concert programs…Whether you come for 2 weeks, 2 days or 2 hours, we hope that you will share our ‘keyif’ (exuberance) for playing together!

10th Klasik Keyifler Music Festival
August 27 - September 10, 2023
The magic will continue with a musical feast, as Klasik Keyifler moves to Şirince and Selçuk to present its 10th music festival. Concerts will be held in a historic town church, the main village square, the Nesin Mathematics Village amphitheater and library, the Stoa courtyard, Kayserkaya hotel, the Arkhé campus and in the Selçuk Town museum. With the friendly support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, the Engles Family Foundation and Chamber Music Exchange, KK will be home again for all kinds of chamber music, new music, Turkish music, world music and improvised music. In honor of the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye in 2023, along with the participation of Tekfen Philharmonic’s chamber music project “O da Tekfen” (“This too is Tekfen”), KK will offer open- rehearsals, concerts and public discussions that explore the chamber music written by the first generation of composers within the new republic. Another series titled "The Rule-Makers; The Rule-Breakers" will feature talks and concerts presented by a group of instrumentalists- kanun, santur, harp, and harpsichord that are often considered the ‘rule-makers’ of a musical ensemble, because they provide the foundational harmonic structure. The opening and closing concerts will celebrate theses musicians and composers who creatively ‘break the rules’ of their individual traditions by blending styles and pushing the boundaries of their instruments. More than 20 new works will be premiered throughout the festival. “Sei Solo- Sei Tutti”is a series of performance events in partnership with the Selçuk Municipality, and these programs will present premieres of solo works commissioned during the pandemic and influenced by Bach that were recently released as a 2-Cd set on Ada Classical. These concerts will also feature songs and dances from the earthquake regions, performed side by side with chamber music collaborations by students and faculty from various KK workshops.
All musicians and audience participants will have an opportunity to attend wellness and mindfulness workshops, and can also attend workshops specifically designed for Performing Artists. Daily workshops will offer an introduction to Alexander Technique, study of applied anatomy, methods for performance enhancement including focus on breathing, speaking and developing presence and will be led by Ann Rodiger from Balance Arts Center in Manhattan, NY.
